So I have officially started “training” if this is what you call rotating walking for 60 seconds and running for 90. I never thought I would say this, but running for 90 seconds actually got my pulse going, the sweat dripping and, I am ashamed to admit, got me catching my breath during the 60 second walking part. Not to mention that me legs got tired real quick. Today is the second session but my legs are still tired. This should be an interesting trial!
From the couch I am launching my new blog. I want it to be inspirational. I want it to motivate others. Yet here I am, sitting on the couch pondering my new blog look and how I am going to get myself from here to there. Where is there you ask? And what in the world does fourty-two signify? It means I am embarking on one of those life dream plans. You know how if someone told you you had a year or two to live, what kind of things would you want to have accomplished by then. Well, I always wanted to run a marathon. Hence the fourty-two. The forty-two kilometres needed to say: “I ran a marathon”. I haven’t been told I only have one or two years left to live (I might for all I know), but if I keep putting this life dream off, it’s only going to get harder right?
I am one of those people that watches joggers run by with envy. It really is the easiest way to get and stay fit. All you need is a good pair of running shoes and in my case, a damn good heavy-duty sports bra (I am nursing my 4-month old son). The first part of my plan is to get from couch to 5k. The second part of the plan, is to blog about my progress here.
I have been able to get a few women from an online forum community to join me on my venture. Any one else in? Wanna get off that couch too?
